The desktop apps for Windows and Mac. Each link is always the latest release, and the apps keep themselves up to date after that.

Windows

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit (x64).

Download for Windows

A signed installer (.exe). Run it to set up buildIt.social, which then lives in the tray.

Mac

macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

Download for Mac

A notarized disk image (.dmg). Open it and drag buildIt.social to Applications. It sits in the menu bar.

Updates install themselves

The apps check for a new version once a day, or when you choose Check for updates in Settings, About. Every update is signed, and the app checks the signature before it installs one.

Sign in with your invite

buildIt.social is in an invite-only pilot. Sign in with the account from the invite your org’s admin sent you.

For AI agents

Connect your agent with the MCP server.

buildIt.social MCP server

An open-source (MIT) MCP server that lets your AI agents work with your org’s projects, items, comments, pages and channels, as you. It works with MCP clients such as Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and VS Code.

Your agent’s client starts the server with this command, so there is nothing to install by hand. It needs Node.js 20 or newer.

It needs a personal agent token: once an admin has turned on Agent access for your org, create one in Settings → Agent tokens. Keep it in an environment variable, never in a config file. The README has the setup for each client.
