Projects
Projects brings work tracking into buildIt.Social. Any channel can become a project: the channel stays the team’s home, its members are the project’s team, and new tabs appear next to Chat and Docs for the board, the backlog, sprints, releases and more. Items get keys such as WEB-42 that turn into live cards when you mention them in chat.
Start here#
- Turn a channel into a project: templates, keys, tabs and project settings.
- Work items: types, the hierarchy from initiatives down to subtasks, and the ways to create an item.
- The item view: the Details, Thread and History tabs, the description, links, subtasks and watching.
Plan and track#
- Boards and the backlog: move cards across columns, and order and plan the backlog.
- Sprints: plan, start and complete sprints, and read the burndown and velocity.
- Releases: fix versions, releasing, release notes and the release page.
- Views, filters and saved views: the List, Table and Calendar, sorting, filtering, grouping and saving a view.
Stay on top of your work#
- The Work hub: My work, the inbox, every project, search and initiatives.
- Work notifications: what notifies you, the morning summary, and how to hear less.
- Items in chat: item threads, sharing to the channel, key cards and creating items from messages.
Connect and manage#
- GitHub linking: see branches, commits and pull requests on your items.
- CSV import and export: bring items in from a spreadsheet or another tool, and take them out.
- Roles and permissions: what project admins, members and guests can do.
- Working offline: what you can do without a connection, and what “Not sent” means.
